Two Virginia men were sentenced to prison for trafficking drugs and possession of machineguns after selling the items to an undercover special agent.
Damien Jahon Reynolds, 36, of Woodford, pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of machineguns. He was sentenced to 12 years and seven months in prison.
Trey Wright, 26, of Fredericksburg, pled guilty to distribution of methamphetamine and possession of machineguns. Wright was sentenced this week to two years and six months in prison.
According to court documents, on Dec. 20, 2023, Reynolds and Wright sold purported “ecstasy” pills, which were later determined to be methamphetamine, 12 machinegun conversion devices and two privately made firearms that were equipped with two additional MCDs.
Reynolds and Wright sold the items to an undercover agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Reynolds provided these items to Wright and possessed more methamphetamine and MCDs at his residence.
MCDs render semiautomatic firearms capable of fully automatic fire and are considered machineguns by law.
