The U.S. invaded Iraq and Afghanistan as illegally as Putin invaded Ukraine, a bad place to begin “democracy building.”

It taught its young troopers how to take over neighborhoods, conduct door-to-kicked-down-door searches and seizures of homes, no warrant needed, grab folks for “interrogation,” no presumption of innocence, and jailed them without trial or conviction.

The troopers became expert in defeating “civilian insurgencies,” putting down citizens of nations who objected to invaders and occupiers depriving them of self-government. Then the troopers came back to the “Homeland,” got veterans’ preference for jobs in DHS, ICE, etc., and began to apply their “skills” Making America Great Again.

MAGA is beginning to look more like the King George III who ordered his Redcoat troops into Boston. Having laid a formidable foundation for the police state “over there” will they soon be “thanked for their service” right here? For most Americans in uniform such a deployment is un-American.

But now the invasion of America, by Americans, has begun in the open. For decades central planners in DC have prepared the ground. Propaganda promoting fear, of crime, of terrorists, of one’s neighbors, of immigrants, has filled streaming services and movies unremittingly.

The schools’ complicity scared the kids with morphing boogeymen over time, “Stranger Danger,” Project DARE with cops training kids to fear “drug dealers,” and then as school shooters mimicked the troops “over there” and celebrated the “Warrior” as the highest type of American Manhood, they began conducting life-like drills to scare the kids witless.

The easily forecast result, All Fear All the Time by Everybody, with many witlessly clamoring to make America a prison. You may not have much freedom in prison, but you are safe. And being safe, that’s all that matters.

Ignore the fact that violent crime, sexual crime and drug crime routinely occurs in prison. Most folks have not been in prison so they have a strange illusion that prisons are “safe.” Ask Jeffrey Epswine if that’s true.

And so the infrastructure for the domestic police state has been well and truly built by both major parties for decades. First the brainwashing had to be done, to convince a so-called “freedom loving people” that they had to give up some things if they wanted to be “safe.” First, they had to give up truth. We did not invade, we liberated. We did not eradicate “civilian insurgents” opposing occupation, we built democracy! We did not torture, we did “enhanced interrogation.”

Once the people had been persuaded truth was inconvenient, lying became the culture’s festering value. Lying here spread to lying there, and soon lying was everywhere. Science, medicine and public health became targets. Lies replaced replicable scientific studies for medical decision making.

Once lying was normalized it was easily spread to law, where people had long scoffed at “legal ethics,” as similar to “military intelligence.” “Everyone knew” the law was rigged before, now at least the rigging was right in your face. No one is above the law, but the President is immune from his crimes!

The first stages of the occupation are unfolding in LA and DC. The return of the Redcoats for our “own sake,” is a fact. The arming of the National Guard in DC has begun. Chicago is floated as the next “target.” Having normalized presidential invasion without declaration of war “over there,” the cancer moves here, flying in the face of the Constitution’s checks and balances.

The War on Drugs, truly a War on the Bill of Rights, training the people to accept destruction of their rights for “safety,” has been almost perfected. It morphed into the War on Terror/Bill of Rights, as people forgot the American promise was that rights belong to all people, not just some.

These decades-long “perpetual wars” eroded and exhausted those who believed peace is preferable to war, enriched many, and sold the nation’s soul once again to the Military-Industrial-Congresional-Presidential-Police-Prisons Complex, for a promise of safety and a potential butchers bill of occupation, if Americans reject the Redcoats.

How is life under the Occupation? Are you enjoying those excellent “freedoms they hate you for?” Are you raising your kids to experience “liberty and justice for all,” in their day to day lives? Don’t forget to thank the occupiers for their service, after all they can hardly be blamed for taking jobs extolled for decades as “being all you can be!”

And, if the specter unfolding before your eyes is disturbing, at least you can take solace in your increased “safety,” in the coming “Gulag Americanus.”
