Teen volunteer program taking applications

Chris Graham

Applications for Augusta Health’s Teen Volunteer Program are now available in the Volunteer Services Office at Augusta Health and at all county, city and private high schools in the Staunton-Augusta County-Waynesboro area.

Teen volunteers at Augusta Health must have finished ninth grade, be at least 14 ½ years old, and demonstrate serious interest in working in a healthcare setting. This year’s program begins June 20 and ends July 21. Participants will volunteer 20 hours each week, from 8 a.m. until 12 noon, Monday through Friday.

Applications are due May 2, and interviews are required. Teen Volunteers are selected based on maturity, potential to accept responsibility and the ability to work cooperatively with others. For more information, please call the Volunteer Services Office at 540.332.4740.
