Teen suffers life-threatening injuries in Augusta County crash

augusta countyAt 2:51 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 17), Virginia State Police Trooper J.T. Lotts responded to a pedestrian crash in Augusta County. The crash occurred in the 1600 block of Lee Highway as a 14-year-old male from Fort Defiance was crossing the highway and was struck by a northbound Volkswagen Jetta.

The juvenile is being treated at UVA Hospital for life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Jetta, a 20-year-old female from Weyers Cave, Va., was transported to Augusta Health for treatment of minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation. Charges are pending.
