State Police: Virginia Beach teenager with autism has been located safe

Matthews has been located safe, according to Virginia State Police.

A 14-year-old teen with autism from Virginia Beach has been reported missing. He was last seen on Wednesday, according to an alert from the Virginia State Police.

The missing person alert was issued today at 12:50 p.m.

Tyion Cordano Matthews, a Black male, is five foot, eight inches tall, approximately 130 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

He was last seen on Jan. 8 at 4:30 p.m. on foot in the 3200 block of Manor Glenn Court. He was last seen wearing a hoodie with green lettering and gray sweatpants.

He has ties throughout the Hampton Roads area.

Matthews has been diagnosed with autism and his disappearance poses a credible threat to their health and safety, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
