Spotsylvania County: No injuries reported in Friday small plane crash

Virginia State Police are investigating a small plane crash that occurred at 2:34 p.m. Friday off Spotswood Furnace Road in Spotsylvania County.

A single-prop aircraft had taken off from Shannon Airport in Spotsylvania County when it apparently suffered engine trouble and had to land in a field along Spotswood Furnace Road.

The two people on board received very minor injuries, according to State Police.

The FAA has been notified.

The crash remains under investigation.
