Chris Graham

short-sleeveShort Sleeve Sampson, one of wrestling’s most recognizable midget wrestlers and star of Hulk Hogan’s Micro Championship Wrestling, announced on Monday that he will be embarking on a 40-city Farewell Retirement Tour beginning Oct. 1.

Sampson, who turned 40 last month, said wrestling has opened the doors to several new opportunities in other fields of entertainment that he has always wanted to pursue.

“At the age of 40, I’m still in the best shape of his life, and now is the time to try new things,” said Sampson, who appeared in WWE many times as himself as well as portraying several parody characters on “Raw” and “Smackdown.”

He has also appeared on several occasions for the Nashville-based TNA and on the 2011 pay-per-view for Awesome Wrestling Entertainment that was broadcast from Augusta Expo in Fishersville, Va.

His career has also reached into TV and sitcoms appearing on shows such as “Jerry Springer” and NBC’s “Here & Now” as well as ABC’s Family Channel.

Sampson has been featured on documentaries for CMT, History Channel, the Travel Channel, A&E Network, and this fall he will be on National Geographic International. He has also done promotional work for Fox’s “Child’s Play” movie and Universal Studios “Despicable Me” appearing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

“It is because of wrestling and the fans that I am able to pursue my dreams, and this is why I want to set out on this Farewell Tour to say thank you to all the fans and promoters who have supported me over the years,” Sampson said.

If you would like to book Short Sleeve Sampson’s Farewell Retirement Tour for your event, promoters are advised to contact immediately as these dates will fill up fast.
