college world seriesFriday night’s UVA-Ole Miss baseball game in the College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha has been suspended because of inclement weather. The game will be resumed Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. ESPN2 will have the television broadcast, while wina 1070-AM and WINA.com will provide the local radio broadcast.

Live statistics (GameTracker) also will be located on VirginiaSports.com. The live stats also can be accessed through the Virginia Sports app, which is available through iTunes.

The game was scoreless in the top of the second inning when play was stopped. The designated road team in the game, Virginia had runners on first and second with none out following singles by Derek Fisher and Brandon Downes to open the inning. The contest then was stopped and put into a lightning delay at 8:32 ET.

Virginia needs one win to reach the CWS Finals. Ole Miss has to defeat the Cavaliers twice in order to advance. If necessary, the second bracket championship game would be played on Sunday at a time to be determined later.

Vanderbilt and Texas are playing in the other CWS bracket. Texas defeated Vandy 4-0 earlier on Friday to force a second bracket championship game. That contest will be played at 8 p.m. Saturday.
