Former ‘Hoos in the 2026 NCAA Tournament: Three advance to second round

Three 2024-2025 Tony Bennett-Ron Sanchez UVA Basketball alums advanced with their teams to the second round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

  • Blake Buchanan, Iowa State (28-7, #2 seed, Midwest): Buchanan had 11 points, seven rebounds, a career-high eight assists, two blocks and three steals in Iowa State’s 108-74 win over #15 seed Tennessee State. Next up: #7 seed Kentucky (22-13) on Sunday.
  • Isaac McKneely, Louisville (24-10, #6 seed, South): McKneely had 23 points (8-of-11 FG, 7-of-10 3FG) in Louisville’s 83-79 win over #11 seed South Florida. Next up: #3 seed Michigan State (26-7) on Saturday.
  • Ishan Sharma, Saint Louis (29-5, #9 seed, Midwest): Sharma had 12 points (5-of-10 FG, 2-of-6 3FG) in Saint Louis’s 102-77 win over #8 seed Georgia. Next up: #1 seed Michigan (32-3) on Saturday.

Season over

  • Andrew Rohde, Wisconsin (24-10, #5 seed, West): Rohde had six points (2-of-4 FG, 2-of-3 3FG) and five assists in Wisconsin’s 83-82 upset loss to #12 seed High Point.
  • TJ Power, Penn (18-11, #14 seed, South): Power had six points (2-of-8 FG, 2-of-5 3FG) in Penn’s 105-70 loss to #3 seed Illinois.
