Public meeting in Staunton on jobs

Chris Graham

erik-curren2WHAT: Brews and Views #3: Local Action for Jobs — a free public meeting on citizen action for jobs and the economy
WHEN: Monday, June 23 at 7pm
WHERE: Queen City Brewing Company in Staunton
WHO: Councilman Erik Curren and members of the public
WHY: It’s all about the economy. Jobs, jobs, jobs. Show me the money! You’ve heard it all before from Washington. Now it’s time to bring the discussion about jobs into Staunton.

Everyone knows we need good jobs right here, in the city. But how can we get them?

Do we have to wait for the economy to turn around or for the Economic Development Department to recruit some big employer into town? Or is there anything that citizens can do now, working together? Should we start thinking about jobs and making a living in a different way — perhaps with more emphasis on starting businesses?

The third in Staunton City Councilman Erik Curren’s popular Brews & Views informal citizen discussion series on issues that matter to Staunton held at Staunton micro-breweries. Buy beer, bring in your own food.
