Page County Sheriff deputies obtained a search warrant in the hunt for Todd Aaron Shifflett on Sunday but came up empty handed.
Just after noon, law enforcement established a perimeter around a camper on property in the 700 block of Honeyville Road in Stanley after a tip that Shifflett may be there.
Deputies executed the search warrant in a search for Shifflett at the camper, but the female resident told deputies that Shifflett had been there earlier but had since left. The residence was secured, and Shifflett was not located, according to Page County Sheriff Chad Cubbage.
“I want to assure the citizens of Page County that we are doing everything within our legal authority to track and find Shifflett,” Cubbage said. “I also want to send a very clear message, that just like the information received today, any tip or lead that we receive, will be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.”
Shifflett allegedly brandished a firearm at deputies who responded to a domestic incident on Friday, but no shots were fired. He is also wanted on outstanding felony warrants in Rockingham County.
Shifflett was wearing camo or a black sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black hat when deputies encountered him on Friday.
He is considered armed and dangerous, according to law enforcement. Drones and K-9 dogs have been utilized in the search for Shifflett.
Cubbage also warned anyone who harbors or aids Shifflett, that they will face legal consequences for their actions.
Anyone with information or leads on Shifflett’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Page County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 743-6571.
