A Virginia man who allegedly brandished a firearm at deputies who responded to a domestic incident after Christmas has been taken into custody in Rockingham County.
Page County Sheriff Chad Cubbage announced the capture of Todd Aaron Shifflett this morning.
In addition to the charges stemming from a Dec. 27 incident in Page County, Shifflett was also wanted on outstanding warrants in Rockingham County.
Shifflett had been on the run since the assault incident involving an unidentified woman.
Police offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to Shifflett’s arrest and capture.
No shots were fired in the Dec. 27 incident though the sheriff’s office initially described Shifflett as armed and dangerous. Drones and K-9 dogs were utilized in the search for Shifflett immediately following the domestic disturbance call.
Sheriff deputies also searched a camper and surrounding property two days later but came up empty-handed in their search for Shifflett.
In addition to the charges in Rockingham County, Shifflett also faces new charges of assault, brandishing and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon from the domestic incident where he allegedly brandished a firearm at deputies who responded to the call in Page County.
