Lynchburg: Adult man stabbed in the face during altercation, in stable condition

An adult man was stabbed in the face during an altercation on Jackson Street in Lynchburg on Aug. 17.

The victim, who has not been named, was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital in stable condition and will be transferred to UVA Health for additional care.

Lynchburg Police Department officers responded to a separate address, in the 500 block of Harrison Street, but later determined the altercation took place elsewhere. The initial call was for a hemorrhage or laceration.

LPD has made constant with a suspect in the case who has agreed to meet with investigators.

At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no known ongoing threat to the community.
