Krusen makes starting debut for Generals

Contributors

Pitcher Ben Krusen made his starting debut for the Waynesboro Generals on Tuesday night in an 8-4 loss to Harrisonburg.

He was a late arrival, just joining the team last week.

“I got a phone call, and couldn’t miss this opportunity,” said Krusen, a sophomore righthander from North Central College, who has gained a bit of a different perspective on pitching with some experience in college as a catcher, which has been beneficial to his pitching career because he can now “pitch with the mindset of a hitter.”

It only took him one game with the Generals to know that he’s in with a “good team,” he said, and Krusen feels they could win a championship this season.
