John Reed joins Augusta Health Primary Care in Fishersville

Dr ReedJohn Reed, MD, a board-certified Family Practice physician, has joined the Augusta Health Primary Care office in Fishersville.  The practice is located at 53 South Medical Park Drive, across Goose Creek Road from the main Augusta Health campus.  The office phone number is 540.332.5687.

After graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Mathematics and Anthropology, Dr. Reed earned a Master of Science Degree in Forestry at the University of Washington, and then his Doctor of Medicine from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.  He completed his family medicine residency in Columbia, South Carolina.  He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.  His professional interests include managing chronic diseases and obesity, nutrition, exercise and preventive medicine.

In addition to working in a primary care office, Dr. Reed has served in the Peace Corps in Guatemala and worked at the US Embassy in Mozambique, and volunteered with both the Free Clinic and Latin Free Clinic in Columbia, South Carolina.  He is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese.

In his free time, Dr. Reed enjoys all outdoor activities and traveling.  He, his wife and three children are relocating to the Shenandoah Valley.
