So what was this that I heard about Dennis Kucinich and Fred Thompson dropping out of the presidential race this week?

They were in the race? Seriously?

I hadn’t heard …

Wait a minute. That’s right. They were in the race. I remember now.

Kucinich was the guy who was running somewhere in the 1 to 2 percent range – interesting because most polls have a margin of error of up to 5 percent, meaning he might be owing votes into the 2020s.

And Thompson was the other guy that everybody assumed was going to be a frontrunner type because he was a senator and was on “Law and Order” who was basically the last guy in and the first guy out on the Republican side.

Got it.

And then there’s Rudy Giuliani – who, yes, is running, though, no, unless you live in Florida, you didn’t exactly know that, either.

Interesting approach from the G-Man – skip Iowa, skip New Hampshire, skip Michigan and Nevada and South Carolina, then finish a distant third in Florida.

And you thought pushing Bernie Kerik for a Cabinet post was his bad idea …

Next up on the Dumb and Dumber Candidate list – former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.

You might remember The Huckster as the man who shocked the world by winning Iowa – though that seems like an eternity ago now, doesn’t it?

Huck-A-Mania is going to run out soon – maybe before Super Tuesday, since I can’t imagine the spit-and-tape campaign has that much more left to offer us.

(Note to The Other Guy From A Place Called Hope: The earth, she really ain’t flat – and it doesn’t begin and end at our borders.)

Stay tuned – more ripping to shreds will be in order again, and soon.
