Columbine High School shooting survivor Craig Scott will speak at a free public event at James Madison University next week.

Scott will present a talk on “Lessons Learned from Columbine” from 7-8 p.m. at the JMU Convocation Center.

Scott’s sister, Rachel, was the first of 13 people killed in the April 20, 1999, massacre at Columbine in Colorado. The Scotts’ father, Darrell Scott, founded Rachel’s Challenge, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing school violence.
