All Fredericksburg City Public Schools were closed Friday because of a missing juvenile who was seen trespassing on school grounds.

Fairfax County’s Safar Fasihullah, 16, was seen trespassing at James Monroe High School Wednesday, as reported by WTVR.

“We believe there are potential safety and security concerns with this individual’s mental state. In an abundance of caution, Fredericksburg City Public Schools were closed Friday, March 21,” Fredericksburg Police shared Friday morning.

According to Fredericksburg Police, a James Monroe High School Resource Officer approached the teen, who then fled off school grounds. Police searched the area, but could not find him.

Safar is wanted for trespassing on school property. Anyone with information to his whereabouts should contact Fredericksburg Police Department at 540-373-3122.

The school system’s website alerts viewers of the search for the teen as soon as they visit the website.

James Monroe High serves as Fredericksburg‘s high school with Walker Grant Middle School for middle school students and three elementary schools: Hugh Mercer, Lafayette and Gladys West for an average daily membership of 3,625 students.
