Franklin County: Single-vehicle crash on Major Holland Road results in one fatality

A Virginia man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Saturday morning in Franklin County.

Malcolm Randal Johnson, 64, of Union Hall, died at the scene.

The crash occurred at 8:40 a.m. on Major Holland Road, two tenths of a mile north of Moonlight Cove.

Johnson’s Ford F-350 was traveling north on Major Holland Road, when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, struck several trees and overturned.

Johnson was not wearing his seatbelt, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash remains under investigation.
