Confirmed: Hulk Hogan returns to WWE, will host WrestleMania 30

Chris Graham

hoganWWE.com has confirmed that Hulk Hogan has returned to WWE and will be the host of WrestleMania 30. The company also confirmed that Hogan will make his return to WWE on Monday Night Raw next week.

TMZ had first reported on the news that Hogan was returning to WWE earlier Friday.

Hogan last appeared in WWE in December 2007. The six-time former WWE champion was most recently in TNA, where he worked from 2009 until this past October.

“We are thrilled that Hulk Hogan has returned home to WWE,” WWE Chairman Vince McMahon said. “It’s fitting to have him help us celebrate 30 years of WrestleMania and usher in a new era with the launch of WWE Network.”

Hogan rose to fame in WWE, winning his first world title on Jan. 23, 1984, defeating the Iron Sheikh in Madison Square Garden. Three years later, his title defense against Andre the Giant drew a record 93,173 fans to the Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan for WrestleMania 3.

In 2005, Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his “Rocky III” co-star Sylvester Stallone.

“Words cannot express how excited I am to be back in the WWE family,” Hogan said. “I only have one question for the WWE Universe: Whatcha you gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild as the host of WrestleMania 30?”
