Chris Graham: Litigatin’ Ken vs. The Used Car Salesman T-Mac

Charlottesville radio host Rob Schilling asked Republican gubernatorial nominee Ken Cuccinelli to spell out the differences between a Cuccinelli administration and a Terry McAuliffe administration.

“His approach is job killing, growing government. Mine is job creating, getting government out of the way and leaving the money in the private sector, which is where jobs are supposed to be created. That’s the biggest single difference in the whole race,” Cuccinelli said.

With all due respect, no – hell, no.

A Cuccinelli administration is more of the same of what we’ve seen from Cuccinelli in the Office of Attorney General. The frivolous lawsuits aimed at kneecapping the Obama administration and any and all initiatives from congressional Democrats become policies from the governor’s office playing politics with healthcare, Medicare, education, you name it. The suits aimed at academics studying the environment and climate change become efforts to defund scientific research. The free legal advice for business interests being sued by residents trying to protect their economic rights becomes laws taking away those rights.

To be fair, a McAuliffe administration isn’t anything resembling the good parts of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. McAuliffe’s Virginia is one where business interests with access to the governor are first in line. Insider access to Washington will also be a key part of the McAuliffe years. McAuliffe is the go-to-guy’s go-to-guy; there’s not a thing philosophical or ideological about T-Mac other than the philosophy of TCB – takin’ care of business.

That’s what we’re choosing from. One guy is going to sue anybody and everybody that doesn’t meet the Tea Party’s stamp of approval; the other is going to put an Open for Business sign on the State Capitol.

That the “biggest single difference in the whole race.”

It’s Litigatin’ Ken vs. The Used Car Salesman T-Mac. Your choice.
