Charlottesville man dead in pedestrian crash in Buckingham County; no charges pending

A Charlottesville man is dead after he was struck while walking on Route 15 in Buckingham County.

Tony Frazier, 57, died at the scene.

Virginia State Police is investigating the fatal pedestrian crash that occurred at 8:20 p.m. on Sunday.

A driver in a Ford F150 was heading southbound on Route 15, near the intersection with Buckingham Centre Drive, when they were unable to avoid Frazier who was walking in the southbound lane. The driver’s name was not released.

Frazier was not wearing reflective clothing, according to State Police.

The driver of the F150 was not injured.

There are no charges pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
