Jennifer M. Brown offered a statement in regards to the joint statement sent out by several Sixth District Republican congressional candidates on Tuesday.
“Not a day goes by that someone in the Sixth District isn’t pointing out the obvious corruption going on with the Republican Convention,” said Brown, a candidate for the chair position in the Sixth District Republican Committee, which will be decided at a May 19 convention in Harrisonburg. “It’s becoming increasingly clear that only one candidate favors the re-election of my opponent, because that candidate is the obvious beneficiary of (current chair Scott) Sayre’s underhanded, swamp-like actions. I want to reiterate, this is not how I will oversee the Sixth District, we deserve a fair and transparent process, which is what the voters in the Sixth District want and deserve. We do not need a party boss like William M. Tweed treating our voters and this district like his personal Tammany Hall.”
Brown is a graduate of Harrisonburg High School and Bridgewater College, is a graduate of Regent University School of Law and is a member of the Virginia Bar. She volunteered for the Donald Trump presidential campaign and was the regional director for the gubernatorial campaign of Corey Stewart.
The Republican Convention will be held on May 19th at James Madison University in Harrisonburg. Republicans will elect a new chair and nominate a candidate to replace Congressman Bob Goodlatte, who is retiring.
