An evening of heart-racing frights and spine-chilling experiences – all calculated to benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and the Bridgewater College Equestrian Club – will be on tap Saturday, Oct. 27, at the BC Equestrian Center from 8 p.m. until midnight.
Using the white-columned, pre-Civil War house at the center’s entrance as the focal point of the evening, 85 members of the equestrian club will create a fright-filled scenario titled “The Haunted Story of the Mansion.” The story revolves around a fictional family – the Smiths – and the horrific experiences they had in the house.
Tour guides will lead participants through the rooms, each one of which has been decorated and “rigged” to provide maximum Halloween-style chills and horrors.
Admission for living souls is $5 and for students with ID $4. A $1 reduction in admission may be achieved by bringing a can of food. Food donations will benefit the food bank.
“This is one of the most fun and creative fund-raisers we’ve ever held,” said Juliana Peterson, a Bridgewater College senior from Westminster, Md., and president of the BC Equestrian Club. “Although we’re not advising it for children under eight, others who want a good, old-fashioned scare and who want to donate to a good cause should come out and join us – if they dare!”
