Augusta Sheriff’s Office honors

Augusta County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Paul S. McCormick was honored recently for his performance as a crisis negotiator during an armed-barricade incident in Greenville in March.

The honor was given at the office’s departmental-awards luncheon held earlier this month.

Also honored at the luncheon were:

– Deputy Donald Lee Smith was awarded the Deputy of the Year Ribbon.

– The Investigations Division was given a Unit Commendation for the successful investigation of a series of auto larceny and burglary cases that occurred from October 2007 until May 2008.
