Part of Route 666 (Lofton Road) in Augusta County is scheduled to close for up to 72 hours starting at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2.

The closure is necessary for a railroad crossing replacement about one mile east of the intersection with Route 11 (Lee-Jackson Highway).

During the railroad crossing work, Route 666 will be closed to through traffic between Route 11 and Route 608 (Cold Springs Road).

Through traffic will detour as follows:

  • Drivers east of the crossing will follow Route 666 east, turn right on Route 608, right on Route 667 (Dabneys Road) and then right on Route 11 to return to Route 666.
  • Drivers west of the crossing will follow Route 666 west, turn left on Route 11, left on Route 667 and then left on Route 608 to return to Route 666.

All work is weather permitting.
