augusta county econ tourismLarry Wills, Chairman of the Augusta County Board of Supervisors, announced today that Hollister Incorporated is dedicating a major expansion project at the company’s Stuarts Draft manufacturing plant. The $29 million expansion project increases the overall size of the existing Hollister plant by more than twenty-five percent.

Hollister Incorporated is an independent, employee-owned company that develops, manufacturers, and markets healthcare products and services worldwide. The company’s global headquarters are in Libertyville, Illinois, forty miles north of downtown Chicago.

At the ribbon cutting ceremony today in Stuarts Draft, Hollister President George Maliekel said, “Our decision to invest in this Stuarts Draft expansion project was made after very thoughtful consideration. This is an important investment for our company, and the support we have received from the Augusta County Office of Economic Development, as well as from state and local leaders in the Commonwealth of Virginia, lets us know that we have made the right choice for the continued success of our company and for the people around the world who depend on our products and services to live their lives with dignity.”

“This Hollister expansion project will have an enormous economic impact on Augusta County long-term,” says Amanda Glover, Augusta County Economic Development Director. “Hollister has been part of the business community here in Stuarts Draft for almost 40 years, and this expansion project will not only help to strengthen our regional manufacturing sector with additional jobs; it will also have a positive impact on the lives of people throughout the state of Virginia.”
