As if you didn’t know already: White people fueled Donald Trump to victory

Donald Trump, on his way to the shock win in the 2024 presidential election over Vice President Kamala Harris, won a majority of one race demo: White voters went 55 percent to 43 percent in his direction.

You’re totally surprised to find that out.

(Eye roll.)

It’s worth diving into the numbers some more, so that the reckoning can begin.

The source here: exit polling conducted by a group of news organizations.

By gender

  • White men (34 percent of the electorate): 60 percent for Trump to 37 percent for Harris.
  • White women (37 percent of the electorate): 53 percent for Trump to 45 percent for Harris.

There was much wailing and gnashing of the teeth over Black voters, and Black men, in particular, abandoning Kamala Harris.

In truth, Harris won Black voters 86 percent to 12 percent, and won Black men 78 percent to 20 percent.

The media wanted to make this about Blacks and Black men, when it was never about them.

It was always about a segment of White voters who couldn’t bring themselves to vote for a Black woman.

By age

  • White voters 18-29 (8 percent of the electorate): 49 percent for Trump to 49 percent for Harris.
  • White voters 30-44 (15 percent of the electorate): 55 percent for Trump to 42 percent for Harris.
  • White voters 45-64 (25 percent of the electorate): 62 percent for Trump to 37 percent for Harris.
  • White voters 65+ (22 percent of the electorate): 55 percent for Trump to 44 percent for Harris.

The college kids didn’t save us after all.

(Not the White ones, anyway.)

By education status

  • White men with no degree (18 percent of the electorate): 69 percent for Trump to 30 percent for Harris.
  • White women with no degree (20 percent of the electorate): 63 percent to 35 percent for Trump.

Don’t pat yourselves on the back here, White college grads: White college-grad men (16 percent of the electorate) went 50 percent to 47 percent for Donald Trump, and White college-grad women (20 percent of the electorate) went 57 percent for Harris percent to 41 percent for Trump.

By religion

  • White evangelicals (22 percent of the electorate): 81 percent to 17 percent for Trump.
  • White Catholics (15 percent of the electorate): 61 percent to 35 percent for Trump.

These self-professed religious types looked at an adjudicated rapist, convicted of fraud, a guy who sells Bibles with his name on them for sixty bucks and keeps the money, has promised to round up other people and put them in camps, and said, Yeah, that guy was sent here by our Jesus Christ to save us.

Somebody’s gotta say it.

White people, we suck.
