VDOT will close the left lanes of Interstate 64 between mile markers 122 and 124 in Albemarle County over the weekend for a scheduled bridge safety inspection.

Closure days/times:

  • Saturday: I-64 westbound, left lane closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: I-64 eastbound, left lane closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The inspection will take place outside the city of Charlottesville at mile marker 122 and 124.

During the closures, traffic will use the right lane to pass through the work zone.

Motorists should expect delays, allow extra travel time, and use caution when traveling near the inspection area. All work is weather permitting.
