Albemarle County: Suspicious fire under investigation on Wahoo Way

An apartment in the 200 block of Wahoo Way in Albemarle County was unoccupied when a fire broke out at approximately 4:25 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Albemarle County Fire Rescue career and volunteer units arrived to discover two fire alarms activated and smoke in one apartment unit.

Responding crews were able to extinguish the fire by 4:52 am.

There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire appears suspicious in nature and is currently under investigation by the Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Anyone who was in the area around 4 a.m. or has more information about this incident is asked to call the Fire Marshal’s Office at (434) 296-5833.
