Update: Albemarle County Police make arrest in early-morning shooting

A Charlottesville man is in custody in connection with an early-morning shooting in the 3400 block of Berkmar Drive.

Daquan J. Ravenel, 21, of Charlottesville, has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon and reckless handling of a firearm, per a report from the Albemarle County Police Department.

Ravenel is being held without bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.

The victim in the 1:10 a.m. shooting self-transported to UVA Health in non-life threatening condition while officers were still on scene.
