VDOT has reopened the Route 601 (Old Ivy Road) bridge over U.S. 29/250 in Albemarle County following completion of bridge beam repairs and final safety inspections.

The bridge had been closed to allow crews to perform additional repair work to a bridge beam that were damaged earlier last week in a bridge strike. All work and inspections are now complete, and the bridge is open to traffic.

Northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 29/250 are also fully open in both directions.
