A driver is wanted after leading a Virginia State Police trooper on a chase on Route 250 in Albemarle County last night.

A Virginia State Police trooper attempted to make a traffic stop at 11 p.m. Tuesday of a Ford Crown Victoria on U.S. Route 250 near Interstate 64 at exit 124.

The driver refused to stop and sped off westbound on Route 250, according to VSP.

The driver lost control and wrecked near the intersection of Richmond Road (Route 250) and Stony Point Road (Route 20).

The driver then ran from the scene on foot.
