ACC announces 2017-18 Academic Honor Roll

accThe ACC announced its 62nd annual Academic Honor Roll on Friday, recognizing classroom excellence by the league’s student-athletes in 2017-18.

The ACC Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. The conference recognized a record 4,650 student-athletes.

Duke led all schools with 493 student-athletes recognized, and Notre Dame followed with 434. Boston College saw 409 student-athletes achieve Honor Roll status, followed by Virginia with 404.

North Carolina had 391 student-athletes recognized, followed by Louisville with 364 and Virginia Tech with 320. Florida State was next with 268, followed by Syracuse (256), NC State (254), Pitt (245), Clemson (218), Georgia Tech (202), Miami (200) and Wake Forest (192).

Twelve schools had at least one student-athlete who earned ACC Honor Roll status for the fifth time:

  • Boston College – Tess Chandler (lacrosse)
  • Clemson – Grace Barnett (cross country, track and field)
  • Duke – Malinda Allen (soccer), Gabe Brandner (football), Danny Fowler (lacrosse), Becca Greenwell (basketball), Alec Kunzweiler (cross country, track and field)
  • Florida State – Bryce Kelly (cross country), Hailey Luke (beach volleyball), Hannah Welsh (track and field)
  • Georgia Tech – Alex Grady (cross country, track and field), Rachel Thorne (cross country, track and field)
  • North Carolina – Emily Godwin (track and field), Ryan Marci (lacrosse)
  • NC State – Georgiy Malyshev (tennis), Alyssa Rudawsky (cross country, track and field)
  • Pitt – Caleb Parry (baseball), Ryan Winslow (football), Nick Zanetta (wrestling)
  • Syracuse – Colin Bennie (cross country, track and field), Taylor Gait (lacrosse), Matt Lane (lacrosse)
  • Virginia – Ariana Dial (golf), Georgia Ratcliff (rowing)
  • Virginia Tech – Ashley Buchter (swimming), Vincent Ciattei (cross country, track and field), Margaret Gruber (swimming), Jared Haught (wrestling), Daniel Jaskowak (cross country, track and field), Kristen Lee (track and field), Kallie Peurifoy (soccer), OIivia Privitera (track and field), James Steck (track and field)
  • Wake Forest – Shannon Eby (field hockey), Meghan Murphy (field hockey)
