ACC Tournament Friday: What to Watch For

Chris Graham

storylogo2And then there were four: the Final Four, if you will, ACC Tournament style. And actually, it will feel very much like the other Final Four set for Indianapolis in a few weeks, with two probable NCAA Tournament #1 seeds, #2 Duke and #3 UVA, in action in Friday’s tournament semifinals.

And their opponents are two teams that themselves are very much capable of making a deep run into March in the form of #9 Notre Dame and #19 North Carolina.

The ACC – ready for prime time!

Friday, 7 p.m. #1 UVA (29-2, 17-2 ACC) vs. #5 North Carolina (23-10, 13-7 ACC)

Regular season: UVA W 75-64 in Chapel Hill on Feb. 2

Players to watch: UVA F Anthony Gill (11.6 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 59.3% FG ), UNC G Marcus Paige (13.7 ppg, 41.2% FG)

Friday, 9 p.m. #2 Duke (29-3, 16-3 ACC) vs. #3 Notre Dame (27-5, 15-4 ACC)

Regular season: 1-1 (Notre Dame W 77-73 on Jan. 28, Duke W 90-60 on Feb. 7)
