Leaf collection schedule for City of Staunton

Contributors

staunton2editsThe City’s leaf collection service will begin on Monday, November 4.  Residents are requested to rake leaves to the curb but to keep them away from gutters.

Rocks, sticks, brush and other debris must be kept out of leaf piles, as such debris can damage equipment and delay collection.  “Mixed” piles, containing both leaves and debris, will not be collected.  A map with approximate dates of collection in each of seven leaf collection areas can be found on the City’s web site, www.staunton.va.us, and on the Staunton City Manager Office’s Facebook page.

The City does not publish a schedule for collection on a street-by-street basis.

It was odd that Waynesboro and Staunton were each able to maintain their local daily newspapers for so long, given the realities of the media market, but we couldn’t keep the good thing going forever, it seems.
