Gonzalez joins Augusta Health Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine Office

Laura Gonzalez, a board certified specialist in pulmonary diseases, has joined the Augusta Health Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine office in Fishersville.  The practice is located in the Medical Office Building on the Augusta Health campus.  The office phone number is 540.245.7190.

After graduating from the Hollins College in Hollins, Virginia, Dr. Gonzalez received her Doctor of Medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.  She also completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine.  She was Chief Resident and Associate Instructor in the Internal Medical Service there.

Dr. Gonzalez has practiced in a variety of settings, including small rural communities, the public health service and Veterans Medical Centers.  She has taught at Wright State University, the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and Idaho State University. Dr. Gonzalez is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Association of Bronchology.  Her professional interests include Asthma and Allergy, Interventional Pulmonology/Thoracic Oncology and the management of COPD and Lung Cancer patients.

Dr. Gonzalez brings Interventional Bronchoscopy to Augusta Health.  These procedures are less invasive modalities to help in the diagnosis and management of lung cancer patients.

In her free time, Dr. Gonzalez enjoys gardening, astronomy, photography and hiking—all activities she will be able to enjoy as she relocates to Augusta County.
