VCU defeats Saint Joseph’s, steamrolls into A-10 Tournament

vcu men's basketballJunior guards Marcus Evans and Isaac Vann combined for 38 points as VCU held off pesky Saint Joseph’s on senior night.

VCU (25-6, 16-2 A-10) extends its win streak to 12 games and tied a school records for regular season wins (25) and conference victories (16).

Evans supplied a team-high 25 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field and 3-of-6 from three. He also grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists.

Vann poured in 15 points and grabbed four rebounds, while junior guard De’Riante Jenkins recorded 11 points, six rebounds and four assists.

In all, nine Rams got on the board, including freshman forward Vince Williams, who added seven points, and junior guard Malik Crowfield, who kicked in six on 2-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc.

Saint Joseph’s guard Charlie Brown Jr. logged a double-double on Friday with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
