economic-forecast-headerA workshop for area businesses interested in learning more about selling their products and services to federal, state, or local government agencies is being offered 8:30 – 11:30am Thursday March 28 at the Augusta County Government Center in Verona.  Check-in and morning refreshments will begin at 8:00am.

This “Selling to the Government” workshop is the 2nd in the “Growing Together: Pathways to business renewal & expansion” series being offered by a collaboration of public and private organizations in the central Shenandoah Valley.  The series is designed to help strengthen the region’s economic vitality by making it easier for existing area firms to pursue advanced strategic paths for growth.

This workshop will begin with presentations by speakers with expertise on steps and resources for learning about, bidding on, and fulfilling contracting opportunities.  The remainder of the morning will feature practitioners sharing their experiences and tips for successful contracting, first by a panel of government purchasers, followed by a panel of businesses currently selling to one or more government agencies.  Optional 1-on-1 afternoon meetings with an expert on the day’s topic will be available to attendees on a first-requested, first-scheduled basis.

Admission to each of the Growing Together workshops will be free thanks to the generous support of a growing list of sponsoring organizations.  More detailed information about this, and all the remaining workshops in the series, along with a list of sponsoring organizations, is available at the Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center (SV SBDC) website atwww.ValleySBDC.org/growing-together .

Anyone interested in attending the “Selling to the Government” workshop should pre-register to ensure a seat by calling the SV SBDC at 540-568-3227 or visiting their website.
