River City Radio Hour features The Blues Lady

Contributors

The November River City Radio Hour will feature the Dreaded Blues Lady, Lorie Strother, and Dr. Stephen Levine .  Also on the Radio Hour are the Boogie Kings, Marsha Howard and the River City Players in A. Love Diary.  The 6:30 and 8:00 pm performances are at WTA’s Gateway, 329 West Main in downtown Waynesboro.  Doors open at 6 pm.

Lorie Strothers and Dr. Levine return to the Radio Hour after a very busy year of performing throughout the MidAtlantic region.   Ms. Strother with her soulful voice and Dr. Levine with his expert blues guitar styles combine to give an authentic voice to American Blues. Ms. Storther was recently selected for the prestigious Virginia Folk life Apprenticeship program.   She will be paired with master blues sing Adegbalola, a member of Saffire—The Uppity Blues Woman, for the next nine months.

In Chapter Three of Bob Crawford’s A. Angel Love, A young woman with a “smile full of heart and a voice to match” tests her new found economic and social liberation.  Will she be paid equal to her talent?  What will the congressman offer to tempt our heroine?  Those are the question for Chapter Three.

The Boogie Kings and Waynesboro First Lady of Laughter, Marsha Howard, round out the one-hour performances.

Advanced tickets are $10 and may be purchased online (www.wtagateway.com) or by calling the box office (540-943-9999).  Tickets are also available at the box office on the night of performance for $12.  All seats are reserved.
