The battle of two ex-governors is still looking like a Mark Warner landslide.

A Rasmussen Reports poll released today has the Democrat Warner ahead of Republican Jim Gilmore by a commanding 57 percent-to-34 percent margin. The poll was conducted on Wednesday of 500 Virginia voters.

Warner has the lead in the race in every important statistical category. He is pulling the votes of 95 percent of self-identified Democratic voters, while Gilmore is getting the support of 74 percent of Republicans, with 17 percent of GOP voters leaking over into the Warner column.

Warner leads as well among independents by a 52 percent-to-27 percent gap, and has a 66 percent favorability rating, compared to 47 percent for Gilmore, who is viewed unfavorably by 44 percent of voters.
