Fishburne splits pair of games at Hargrave Invitational

fms-logoA Fishburne rally fell short against Fork Union in a 70-65 loss on Friday, but the Caisson postgrads rebounded on Saturday to post a convincing 80-57 win over Mt. Zion on Saturday.

Against Mt. Zion, Zach Lewis (Canisius) led the way with 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field. Kuran Iverson (Memphis) contributed 17 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field and pulled down nine rebounds for the Caissons, who got a game-high 10 rebounds from Barnett Harris (Delaware). Greg Session contributed 10 points, six rebounds and six assists.

FMS trailed Fork Union 39-27 at the half but made a game of it in the second half. Lewis led the way again with 21 points, while Walter Foster (Towson) added 14 points and nine rebounds.

Fishburne stands at 27-6 on the season heading into the National Prep Tournament in New Haven, Conn., which tips off on Tuesday.
