Tim Kaine introduces Senate bill to boost tourism at national parks

U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine introduced the Entrance Fee Suspension Act of 2013 today to encourage tourism at national parks and wildlife refuges and bolster local economies that were harmed by the 16-day government shutdown. The bill will assist businesses that lost revenue or were forced to close temporarily during the government shutdown because of national park closures.

Liberty University student shot, killed after altercation with campus police officer

An unidentified Liberty University student was shot and killed after an altercation with a campus security officer, the school confirmed today. According to a report on the school’s website, a Liberty University emergency-services officer was attacked by the male student in the lobby of a women’s-only dorm early Tuesday morning.

The UVa. men’s soccer team has earned the No. 8 seed and a first-round bye in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. On Sunday (Nov. 24) at 1 p.m., Virginia (10-5-5) will play host to the winner of Thursday’s Delaware-St. John’s match. The men’s second-round contest at Klöckner Stadium will precede the third-round NCAA women’s tournament game, which will be held at 5 p.m.
