Virginia women have turned on Gov. Bob McDonnell, pushing his job approval rating to a new low of 46-37 percent, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Voters still say 44-36 percent that the governor is honest and trustworthy and only 16 percent of voters, most of whom are Democrats, think he should resign.

Today Ralph Northam’s campaign for lieutenant governor announced that State Sen. Donald McEachin (D-Henrico) will serve as the campaign’s chairman. McEachin is the chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus and was an early endorser of Northam’s candidacy.

Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAulife’s campaign announced today that he raised more than $1.9 million during the month of June from more than 5,000 donors and nearly every county in Virginia. He raised more than $5.6 million total during the 2nd quarter. McAuliffe’s cash on hand is now just over $6 million.
