The Virginia Department of Transportation will close a portion of Route 649 (Proffit Road) from Oct. 19 to Nov. 20 to make repairs to the one-lane bridge over Norfolk Southern Railway. The bridge is located approximately 0.3 mile north of Route 643 (Polo Grounds Road).

The Virginia Department of Transportation will close part of Route 867 (North River Road) in Rockingham County near Mount Crawford beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday. This closure is for repairs to the Pleasant Run bridge and adjacent guardrail, which were damaged by an apparent vehicle strike.
