Marriage equality for all: Supreme Court lets gay marriage rulings stand

The U.S. Supreme Court, in a surprise move, denied review Monday to five rulings from lower federal courts in cases involving gay marriage, leaving standing marriage equality victories in several federal circuits and opening the door to the freedom to marry for LGBT couples in many more states.

Nighttime lane closures begin next week on Route 29 north of Charlottesville

Improvements to the traffic signal system along Route 29 north of Charlottesville will require nighttime lane closures beginning next week. The work, which will be done at seven intersections between Hydraulic Road and Rio Road, will begin Monday, Oct. 6 and is anticipated to continue for several months.
