I saw my father six weeks before he died. My friend, whose father died a year prior, told me to ask my father questions when I went to see him. She insisted I ask him everything I wanted to know about anything. I didn’t really know what she meant then. I didn’t ask my father any questions. Now, I understand and I wish I had asked while I had the chance.

St. Anne’s-Belfield School art teacher debuts first solo show

Throughout October Mr. John Russell, St. Anne’s-Belfield School’s kindergarten through third grade art teacher and instructor of grades seven and eight visual arts, will exhibit new work in his first solo show. His encaustic paintings will be displayed at Over the Moon Bookshop and Artisan Gallery in Crozet until the end of the month.

U.S. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine joined U.S. Senators Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Chris Murphy (D-CT) and a bipartisan group of 20 other Senators in calling on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to take immediate, overdue action to fully implement and enforce the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA).

McAuliffe signs gun safety executive order

Governor Terry McAuliffe today signed an executive order directing actions to keep guns out of dangerous hands by better enforcing existing Virginia law. The governor signed the executive order at a press conference alongside U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, Attorney General Mark Herring and members of the law enforcement and gun safety advocacy community.
