A Waynesboro teen wanted on charges of obtaining money by false pretenses turned himself in at the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday. Michael Paul Bennett, 19, originally of Waynesboro, was wanted for eight counts of obtaining money by false pretenses.

The Waynesboro Police Department is requesting assistance in locating a Waynesboro man wanted on numerous felonies for fraud. Michael Paul Bennett, 19, originally of Waynesboro, is wanted for eight counts of obtaining money by false pretenses. It is believed he is staying at the Hunter’s Ridge Apartments in Harrisonburg.

Mitzie Campbell of Pet Sitting by Mitzie came to the Waynesboro office and gave VPAS an envelope full of checks totaling $930. These donations were collected from her business clients as the result of a solicitation letter she sent out asking for donations for Meals on Wheels.

DaVita made a $1,000 corporate gift to VPAS for the Meals on Wheels program in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

The week of December 2-6 was Christmas Week at Staunton Senior Center as every day brought its own special holiday flair. After the Christmas parade on Monday evening, Tuesday brought the Women of Hope duo who presented “An Olde English Christmas: Carols of Our Heritage”, followed by a seasonal craft.
