The City of Charlottesville received the Enhanced Situational Awareness Award in the category of Innovative Use of Technology in Local Government during the annual Governor’s Technology Awards.

Due to the UVA football game against Richmond on Saturday, September 6, Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) will detour the Free Trolley. Bus stops along Alderman Road, McCormick Road, and portions of Jefferson Park Avenue will not be served.

The McIntire/Harris intersection in Charlottesville will be paved on Thursday, August 28th. Traffic will be maintained through the intersection, but Allied Lane will be closed for a portion of the day as it is repaved. Please use Allied Street to access McIntire Plaza.

Due to UVA’s game against UCLA on Saturday, August 30, Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) will detour the FREE Trolley. Bus stops along Alderman Road, McCormick Road, and portions of Jefferson Park Avenue will not be served. The detour will begin at halftime and last until two hours post game. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM.

Members of the Charlottesville Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 2363 and Charlottesville Fire Department, along with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, kicked off the fire fighters’ annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign to benefit children and adults affected by muscle disease throughout the Charlottesville area.
