WVPT Festival of Family Fun set for June 7

afp_wvptWVPT, the pbs station that serves the Shenandoah Valley and Central Virginia, announced that the Festival of Family Fun will be at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds, Saturday, June 7th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free family event focuses on children, their families and literacy in addition to a new focus on health and safety.

The wvpt Festival of Family Fun, formerly known as the wvpt Kids’ Book Festival, has become a premiere Harrisonburg family event, attracting more than 40,000 people over the years, and giving out more than 50,000 books to young readers.

This year’s event promises to be bigger than ever with the addition of health and safety information, demonstrations and activities. Every child in attendance will receive free a new book and a “gently used” book. Characters from pbs shows
Clifford the Big Red Dog and Curious George will be at the event for photo opportunities, in addition to Cubby, the wvpt Bear.

Families attending the wvpt Festival of Family Fun will enjoy entertainment, free snacks, fun activities, an opportunity to take part in WVPT’s Greenscreen Adventure Studio, and much more.
